   Start of the tour

   Today, there are very few buildings in Volgograd that remind us of that county town, still merchant-based Tsaritsyn.

   The building was constructed in 1862 in Tsaritsyn at the corner of Dubovskaya and Knyagininskaya streets by the construction artel of local merchant Alexander Shlykov.

   Among all the old houses built in Tsaritsyn that have "survived" to our time, this building holds a special place.

   Knyagininskaya Street (Raboche-Krestyanskaya Street, 9/1)

   The Voznesenskaya (Ascension) Church, to which the school belonged, was built in 1864, becoming the first church beyond the Tsaritsa River.

   The site of the square has long been occupied by the Bazaar Square.
